Plant spikes have been around for just about as long as house plants have. They are one of the oldest ways of fertilizing potted plants as there is going. (Someone with roots in their blood once told me that solid fertilizer preceded the liquid variety by quite a respectable amount of time. The liquid variety being easier, but not necessarily better). A lot of folks don't seem to use them anymore since liquid fertilizers mixed with your regular watering are so much easier. My own experience with both is that the solid, slow dissolving spikes last longer, feed the plant the nutrients more efficiently over the longer amount of time, and genuinely do a better job of giving your plants the extra boost of good stuff all house plants can use. I am not a horticulturist and certainly do not claim to know this is a fact over a reasonable theory. What I do know is I have some the biggest, richest, and healthiest house plants I have witnessed among my many peers that dabble in the home spun gardening trade as well. I stopped using liquid fertilizers years ago and have had excellent results with these spikes. You thumb them down just under the surface every couple of months and watch your house plants love you for it. I highly recommend the Jobe fertilizer spikes, and, I also recommend that if you can't or don't care to locate them locally, that you buy them in bulk here on Amazon and make the shipping worth it. Made them part of a bundle package with something else and they ship for free at the time of this writing. Try them for just one or two of your plants and see if they don't make you smile...

I find they work very well. No mess with measuring or applying the 'right' amount! Just stick a stick or 2 in the pot & your done!

We ordered plants from a shopping network OVER a year ago. Unfortunately, the plants weren't growing AT ALL. We were about to toss them when we saw these spikes. The plants have been growing like crazy. Took us long enough but glad we bought them because they have really worked. We bought two of them this time around and in a few months we'll order more.

I'm not a green thumb, so these finally gave me a method for taking care of my plants that I could remember. Nothing has died since I started using them....so I give it 5 stars! :o)

I love these stakes for outside potted plants, as well as for in-ground flowers. In containers, the water diluted fertilizer can cause unhealthy salts to build up in the soil, so these spikes help reduce the amount of water soluable ferilizer needed. In-ground plants that are watered with water soluable tend to cause inadvertant fertilization of weeds, yikes! Spiking your plants helps eliminate this problem. I love these stakes, they do what they say, and much, much more!

These are so easy to use that I'm going to re-order them and get several packages. Very good stuff and no mess at all, no measuring, etc.

I've used this on several of my plants and each time it produces great results. In the first year one of my small plants doubled in size. I would also encourage you to check out the Jobe's organic line or citrus and tomato fertilizers. My lemon tree went from dropping leaves to producing lemons and growing bigger two months after I applied it. I also moved it into a brighter sunnier spot so I think that combination helped.

These little food spikes work great! So easy to use. I placed them about a week ago & my plants look perkier already. Hope I start to see some blooms soon. :) Nonetheless, the plants really seem to appreciate the food! Good price & product!

I bought a plant that was already doing well and bought these to keep it that way. I used them on my father's half dead 10 year old plant, and within a week it was healthy and blooming flowers. They really work well.
