Great product but much cheaper online, November 20, 2009

This is a great product. Based on research, it has all the bells and whistles and better materials then competitive products. If you go to the manufacturers web site, you can watch a video of the installation, use, and drainage of the product. Also, it has a well laid out FAQ section.

Something to consider, These types of bladders are single use. If you fill up the bladder and then don't end up using it, you can either slit the side with a knife or use the included pump to start a siphon effect into the tub drain and it will drain itself within about 60 minutes.

As I write this the company has not released refill kits but I hear they are working on that.

Please look online for better prices ~$20 each plus shipping ~$5

Enjoy!

Awesome product, but how long does these things last?, May 23, 2010

I bought several Waterbob directly from the WaterBob website and gave them out to all of my family members which is a great tool for storing water in case of emergencies where tap water would be subject to contamination or lack of distribution due to no electricity (for water pumps). It's clean and more convenient in a waterbob 'bladder' than the surface of a bathtub especially for drinking. Highly recommend it for any coastal areas subject to multiple of severe hurricane strikes... especially for island areas where evacuation to other states is not easily done with massive cost. It's for one use only, so it's best to fill it just before a strike occurs. The question I have is if an emergency doesn't occur within 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 years, will the Waterbob hold up while being in storage? No way to test it each year like other items in the emergency kit. Other than that, it's a great emergency tool.

Nice addition to my hurricane prep., June 17, 2011

The WaterBOB arrived ahead of schedule. I'd seen a similiar item on a disaster preparedness website (AlphaRubicon) and was very happy to find one online for a decent price. As a Sheriff Deputy in South Louisiana disaster preparedness is no joke. The plastic is food grade and is thick and durable (plenty tough enough for sitting in your bathtub). The pump is not going to wow any one, but it will get the job done. Those of you who are worried about light and the water getting skunky (my small bathroom has no windows so not a concern of mine) throw a blanket (tarp, shower curtain...whatever) over the tub.

WaterBOB, January 6, 2012

This is a must have for anyone worried about losing power and water. I live in Florida and during a hurricane I used mine. We went with out power and water for a week. This water bladder really saved out bacon! we did not have to wait in a water line at the fire station like so many others. I keep reading people saying this is a one time use item. I rinsed the inside out with organic apple vintager and spring water and then used a shop vac to dry the inside of mine. Theres been no mildew or foul odors I would use it again with confidence.

Must have backup for your family, April 24, 2010

I live in an area that can get ice storms in the winter and hurricanes in the summer/fall. Having a backup water supply is key, and this provides a cheap and easy way to manage about 200 gallons of water.

The old advice of "filling up your tub with water" is good, but this protects the water supply itself. Soap scum/ residue could taint the water, and after a few days, the supply would be ruined. This food-grade vinyl bladder holds the water and even comes with a dispenser pump to fill water bottles or buckets.

We keep ours stored int eh bathroom that has the tub and it's cheap insurance.

Haven't Use it But it's a Great Idea. Seems like such a simple idea & a big help in bad times. Don't have to have all those extra soda bottles on the floor any more. Hope I never have to use but I'm ready if I need extra water. Folks Please Prepare for the Worse & Pray it never happens but you must not look to someone else for your Survival.

Need in an emergency, January 9, 2011

If you lose power you will want to store water quickly and easily. This is a great way to do that. When the power goes out you want to get this filled up ASAP as the tanks will soon run dry. I think cheaper then dirt is a better price but still a great product at this price.

Brilliant idea for emergency water storage, August 8, 2008

I cannot tell you that I have tested this product because it will only be used in an emergency, but I was thrilled to add it to my emergency supplies. I have done a fair amount of research on how to store water for the kind of emergency where you have reason to believe that public services could be disrupted for weeks at a time--such as an avian flu epidemic. So if I am asked to shelter in place for such an epidemic, I will immediately put the Waterbob into use.

I will also be filling some 55 gallon drums with water for long term storage, but it is much more difficult and expensive to get drums ready for storage (I purchased second hand drums that need to be cleaned, but new ones were cost prohibitive because of the cost of shipping).

The video on the Ron Hazelton web site showing this product makes it very easy to understand.
I like the fact that the water bladder is collapsible to be used over and over if necessary.

One time use ONLY., October 17, 2008

This is not something you can fill up anytime you are concerned you might lose power/water, because once filled, there is no safe way to remove all the water so that bacteria, mold, etc do not build up inside the bladder.

It is a big price for a one time bladder.
