I was a bit dissappointed with this item when it arrived. The flashing lights are not very visible even in total darkness and I would recommend an alarm with a louder decibal rating. It is loud enough that it would bring attention provided that there was little or no background noise competition but not enough to startle an aggressive attacker in my opinion.

I bought this alarm since I am a woman and I travel frequently for work. I appreciate that I can take it on the plane and I LOVE the fact that I can have it with me when I go out after a day of business meetings for a walk. I get a little creeped out in strange places, walking around at dusk or during the evening. I haven't had to use it yet but I can tell you that everyone within a city block would be able to hear this alarm if I ever have to use it. I have used the mini flashlight on the end - to dig in my purse - works great.

I received this as a gift from my grandchildren and I absolutely love it. I walk my dog at night and the red blinking lights work much better than my reflective jacket. When I tested the alarm I couldn't believe how loud the sound was given the size of the product. The white flashlight works great for finding keys and other items. I would definitely recommend this item to all my friends.

I purchased this item to run with in the early hours of the morning. I'm less afraid of being attacked by another human than I am of the wildlife that I run with. The light is perfect to see the dark areas of my run and the alarm is not messing around! It is a piercing alarm that would scare human or wildlife. I hope to never have to use it but I definitely feel safer having it.

Very loud alarm! Sturdy and pretty in pink. Just what I was looking for. If the price was a little less it would be the perfect gift for fellow students, who are walking to their cars late at night.

I purchased one of these alarms for my granddaughter who will be attending college in the city. She can't have Mace or pepper spray and carrying a firearm is out of the question. I feel so much better that she will have this and it's small enough for her to carry in her pocket all the time. After we heard how load the alarm really is, my wife wants one too!

My husband bought this for me as I am going to be traveling out of state for an extended period of time. When I got it and tried to test it the lights worked but the Alarm itself did not work. I tried everything and got nothing. The only reason it is getting TWO stars is because Amazon is refunding my money and providing me with a shipping label to send it back.

I received the alarm today and tested it in the house. It isn't even as load as the smoke detector. If I was outside it would be hardly noticable and in my opinion more than worthless as it might give a woman a false sense of security carrying it. If this was an item in a store and you pulled the pin to test it i doubt anyone would even look. I take my little dog for a walk in the park every night so I'm disappointed in this product.

The alarm is designed to be handy, it is. It is made of plastic and isn't waterproof. It wasn't required on my bicycle tour of western China, an after thought.
