Got these for the 5 Meter Reel Warm White 3100k Flexible LED Ribbon 300 Leds 16 Ft, sold by LEDwholesalers.

The unit is sturdy and reliable, and the remote is really neat!

The only issue I had was that I wanted the remote sensor to be hidden, (the remote is IR-based, so it needs line-of-sight to this box) so I had to desolder the IR receiver and move it to a concealed location on the front of our cabinets, but that was a cinch.

If you don't want to deal with that, you could just stick this box in an inconspicuous location and not worry about it.

Bottom line, the product is great, flawless, and I highly recommend it for dimming LED lighting.

This item is great and I think it's almost a must for LED strips. It is very easy to use and set-up.

There are 3 parts: front cover (the square frame), the main component with the switch, and the back box. And the remote, of course.

I would test it first. First, take the 3 parts apart. There are 4 screws / terminals ... Power in, Ground in, Power+ out, Power- out... From the power converter, black wire goes to GND and red wire goes to DCC (I think that's what they called it). Then LED strip red wire goes to Out+ and black wire goes to Out-. Just make sure that the polarity is correct and things are ready to go.

But to set up, you'll need to thread the wires through the back box first, then connect to the main component. Then you can replace the front cover (make sure the semi-opaque square is over the red light on the main component).

The remote is very easy to use, self explanatory.

I really liked the feel and quality of the dimmer when I got it, however I was really disappointed when I plugged it in for the first time. The high pitch noise that is usual with any dimmer was much louder than my other dimmers. Unfortunately there is no way of muffling the sound without loosing the remote capability. I'll either have to return it or install it at my in laws.

Works pretty well as a dimmer. I have some issues with the bulkiness of the housing. I do not see a need for it to be a bulky as it is. Also the plastic is semi transparent and the entire box glows red for the power light. I also have overlap of the remote with another device to there is unwanted powering on and off at times.
Finally the shape of the knob, the smooth surface, and the fairly stiff resistance makes manual dimming more difficult than it should be.
The good news is the remote can be ditched for those using a Logitech universal remote or other universal remote that can learn.

I just got this yesterday. My only complaints are the incremental up and down on the remote does not work. But with the 4 presets and the ability to make your own presets fixes the incremental buttons that do not work. Second the box that protects and covers the electronics has no way to attach unless you glue them together. No clips or tabs. Plus the 2 supplied screws don't have any place on the circut board to screw into .... Last the instructions are OK at most. Not very well written and the pics leave a lot to the imagination. I am keeping this item !!! It works well if you use the manual rotary knob, and the working buttons on the remote. For the price it is worth it.
***UPDATE*** I was able to pry the surround off the circuit board and mount properly, I would now give 4 stars for this item. If only the instructions could have showed the ability of the two to be separated.

I am using this to control apx 20' of LED lighting and it works like it should. For my application I have the face place removed (the .25" trim ring around the front) and the range / reception of the IR remote is fantastic. I have not tested the range with the face plate on. Under that opaque white lens in the trim ring is the IR receiver. I have the dimmer sitting on top of a cabinet facing up and the remote easily reflects off my drywall ceiling to the device. I have not experienced any buzzing or whining noise associated with the transformer when using this product as another reviewer stated. Works great and cheap, would buy again.

I use this to control a couple strips of LEDs. I made the mistake of assuming that the four buttons on the remote would control four separate output circuits. It's a little clumsy wiring the box up but it's not too hard to figure out.

Just bought and installed and this works well. Easy to mount and terminate connections. Only complaint is the lousy design of the dial itself. As others have commented, it is difficult to turn, there is nothing to grab. It needs to have some textured/knurled section to give better grip. I may add some rubber strip, but the real answer is that with the remote, you dont use the switch. Remote works well within 10-12 feet, and have to push a few more times further out than that. I like and mostly use the 25% - 50% - 17% and 100% brightness buttons, as opposed to the dim up / dim down buttons. Wish it could be sized for a single gang work box,so i can make my LED's operate just like a normal light. Thats where LED's need to go.. Operate like any other light.

This product works as advertised. I use the dimmer to control LED lights on my motorhome.
Cons:
The dimmer knob is very hard to grip and turn due to the shape of the knob. I set the knob to 100% and just use the remote so not a big problem.
The remote must be very close (6 feet) and be able to see the IR pickup on the dimmer.

great dimmer and remote control unit just wished it used a common ground for input and output it will not work in a common ground system you must have separate input and output grounds and not tied togeather
